Peaceful Practices: How to bring yoga into schools
This certification is designed to help those who currently work with children in a variety of settings such as schools, community centers, orphanages, etc. During this training you will learn how to bring yogic practices into the places where you work with children.
Yoga can help create a sense of peace and inner calm for children. Within Yoga, there are tools and techniques that you can use to help children learn to focus, soothe themselves, and find a sense of peace. How much better would your day and their day be, if everyone felt good and whole and peaceful? Another amazing facet of yoga is that you can learn to bring some of this peace into your world with simple adaptable techniques.
Join us after the school day for a week of training in Peaceful Practices. Not only will you be able to bring peace to the children you work with, you will be able to experience it yourself.
The main focus of this training is for you to experience yoga and how it changes you by making you feel better. You can only teach what you know, so once you have experienced yoga, we will also discuss how to share it with the children you serve and love. We will also look at why and how yoga works in the body on a scientific level, and at child development ages and stages to adapt Peaceful Practices to your circumstances.
A final benefit of this training is the coming together with others in your community who share your passion for making a difference in the lives of children. The sense of support and community that we cultivate together will help nourish and inspire you as you bring these ideas back to your daily life.
